SIVGIS

Geographical Information Systems (GIS) is a term that defines an organized collection of hardware, software, geographic data, spatial data, and descriptive and personal data, intended for the acquisition, storage, updating, processing, analysis, and display of geographic information from an organization’s current activities.

Advantages of the SIVGIS Solution:

  • Improved Organizational Efficiency: Enhances overall productivity and efficiency.
  • Better Planning: Facilitates accurate and effective planning.
  • Increased Information Accuracy: Provides precise and reliable information.
  • Operational Productivity: Enhances the productivity of operations.
  • Improved Customer Communication: Enhances communication with customers.
  • Efficient Resource Management: Optimizes the management of resources.

How Does SIVGIS Work? SIVGIS is a desktop application that installs like any other Windows application and supports a wide range of GIS formats.

Technical Details:

  • Editing: The application offers complex editing tools, such as merging, splitting, real-time geometry modification (including modifications to the neighboring polygons), and functionalities that adhere to comprehensive topology rules, like “no gaps and overlaps.”
  • Data and Image Visualization: The application is optimized for loading geographic data and includes predefined thematic layers—GPS measurements, remote sensing, and orthoimagery.

What Functions Does SIVGIS Cover? The application has a large processing capacity, covering the entire area of Romania—23,800,000 hectares. The entire territory of the country can be mapped. The application provides data and image visualization, editing, user management, analysis, and map printing. SIVGIS is integrated with the SIVECO Applications integrated information system, which manages organizational resources.

User Management: Centralized management of users and available functionalities is done based on roles. User access is secured and allowed in predefined work areas by the administrator.

Printing: The application allows for mass map generation (over 1,000,000 maps per campaign/year) using predefined templates. Documents can be generated in PDF format or printed.

Analysis: The application has advanced spatial analysis functionalities, creating and managing reference layers through complex spatial analysis methods. GPS measurements identified during field control procedures can be easily managed.

Target Audience: The SIVGIS application is aimed at utility companies, banks and insurance companies, organizations in tourism, environmental conservation and protection, healthcare, energy, transport, and public administration. SIVGIS provides managers with the ability to make well-informed decisions based on high-quality information.

Offer for Utility Companies: The SIVGIS solution is extremely necessary for utility providers in heating, water, electricity, sanitation, and gas sectors. The solution integrates existing information within companies, stored in the traditional system, allowing managers access to complex digital maps as support for activity planning and improving the quality of services offered to customers.

Utility companies manage geographically distributed assets (electrical routes, gas pipelines, telecommunications equipment, pumps, and water pipes). SIVGIS offers the ability to model networks, supporting quick and accurate operational decisions.

Reorganization of Data in Municipalities: The SIVGIS application developed by SIVECO Romania uniquely manages all categories of geographic information (spatial, textual, images, multimedia) within municipalities. This ensures correct, complete, and timely information for decision-makers, the creation and shared use of general-interest information collections (nomenclatures, databases), fast access to information, and rapid information transfer between users.

Given that most activities at the municipal level have a geographic component, many local decisions depend on knowledge of the location of information (parcels, zoning, properties, arteries, socio-cultural objectives, districts) and understanding spatial relationships.

Since many disputes in municipalities are related to real estate properties, SIVGIS allows tracking property ownership evolution, eliminating disputes over real estate, identifying unoccupied land, and determining the situation of private and state-owned real estate (area, configuration, size, type of construction), reducing the time to issue urban planning certificates, construction, demolition, and partitioning permits.

Using SIVGIS allows for coordination of underground and above-ground network routes, intervention activities regarding public utility works, optimization of public transport routes, efficient management of parking spaces, efficient management of green spaces, and the development of effective investment programs in urban infrastructure for the proper functioning of the city.

SIVGIS for County Councils: The Geospatial Data Management System for County Councils focuses on the acquisition, storage, updating, processing, analysis, and display of geographic information from the current activities of the County Council’s departments—territorial planning, urban planning and authorizations, construction discipline, cadastral and municipal management, county road administration, monitoring works, taxes and duties, property, environmental protection, civil protection, transport and traffic, tourism.

The solution eliminates data redundancy, provides quick access to information, contributes to increasing the productivity of the employed staff using IT tools in all activities at all levels, and supports communication with external users.

Electoral Management with the SIVGIS Solution: The organization and conduct of elections can be made more efficient in terms of materials and manpower. Uninominal constituencies are accurately reflected on electoral maps. Geospatial data provide information on the positioning of polling stations, the alignment of streets and postal numbers, street delimitations, and the locations of electoral posters.
